BEHIND THE LENS
At the young age of four I picked up my dad's Brownie camera and ever since then I had a hard time putting it down. As a young boy I loved taking photos of people and landscapes. As a teenager I photographed high school football games, ran to the darkroom to process the film and made prints. While they were still drying I delivered them to the local newspaper for publishing. As a teenage I had a number of my photos published for various publications and calendars.
After high school I took a position in the television industry, working my way up to producing internationally acclaimed television commercials, television programs and movies.
Never forgetting my roots, I still enjoy photography and spend my spare time honing my craft.
I was fortunate enough to workshop with renowned photographer, Paul Hoeffler. Hoeffler is mostly known for his photographs of the American Jazz scene of the 50’s and 60’s and of Jazz icons such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Oscar Peterson, Jimmy Smith, Count Basie, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday. Prestigious record companies such as Verve, Mercury, Prestige and Blue Note commissioned Hoeffler for numerous album covers.
I hope you enjoy the images I have captured.
